What can we offer in return?

Me and a buddy of mine Jad Dean just finished a three-week series on Jesus at a student ministry in Greenwood, SC. Last night was the final message in the series, and it was his turn to speak. He had some awesome insights worth sharing:

God offered us multi-faceted gifts:

  • Jesus was born – he showed us how to live our lives to glorify God
  • He gave you life
  • He granted you repentance/allowed us to literally turn from sin
  • Jesus’ righteousness was imputed, or handed down, to you if you have Christ in you
  • The wrath of God against your sinful nature was satisfied by His son’s substitutionary death on the cross
  • You are justified, or declared innocent, in the sight of God upon accepting Jesus Christ as your savior
  • Jesus is your redemption, or salvation/rescue from sin

In light of the gifts God has given us, what can we possibly offer in return?

In light of what He has given us, how could we, as Christians, not give Him everything in return?

What are you holding onto that needs to be handed over to a living, loving Savior?

Romans 6:13
“Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.”
